Tina Wittke is Program Leader at Logan Entertainment Centre and Community Venues. We interrupted her busy day to find out a bit more about her and her role.
How long have you been at Logan Entertainment Centre?
I have been at LEC since 2009 as the Technical and Production Coordinator before moving into the role of Venue Manager almost a year ago.
How big is your team and venue?
I have a team of 15 permanent staff, and about 40 casuals. We have a multi-purpose venue that can be set in a variety of capacities including raked theatre for 600, flat floor for 1000 and banquet tables for 500.
Why did you choose a career in the performing arts venue sector?
I realised I had more to offer side of stage than I could offer onstage! I was heavily involved in events even back at high school and followed a path which combined my passion for the performing arts with my natural skills in event planning.
What makes Logan special?
The people in the community and team I work with here.
What is your first performing arts memory?
I remember seeing the Australian Ballet perform as a young girl and thought it was the most amazing thing I had ever seen.
What was the last show you saw?
I enjoyed watching Naomi Price as Adele in Rumour Has It when it came to the venue in March, it was so funny and the hardest I had laughed in a long time.
What do you do when you aren’t working?
Spending family time with my husband and daughter. When I get a chance I enjoy cooking and dining out as much as I can.
